If I’ve heard it once, I’ve heard it a million times, “I don’t have time to work out/exercise”. Well, guess what, they are wrong!! Life is full of choices, we get to pick what is important to us and how we want to spend our time. For me working out has been a very important part of my life for well over 10 years. I am willing and have been willing to make certain sacrifices in my life for years in order to keep it that way. I have also made plenty of sacrifices to keep my weight in check. It’s all about making decisions that are worth it to you to accomplish your goal, no matter what that goal may be. Here is a short list of sacrifices that I have made to stay healthy:

  • Sleep
  • Early morning cuddle time with my daughter
  • Early morning time with my husband
  • Going out with friends every time I want to
  • A fabulous vacation to some tropical place
  • Drinking wine and fruity drinks that I love so much
  • Pizza, OMG the amount of pizza I have not eaten even though I wanted to
  • Eating anything I want

The list could honestly go on and on for a long time. The point is that you have to give up certain things in order to achieve your goals. And don’t worry, my daughter and husband get plenty of cuddle time and special time with me. The reality is that I have chosen to make those sacrifices for myself. I want to be an endurance athlete and that means making sacrifices. I am willing to make them in order to achieve my goal and be healthy.

What sacrifices do you make in order to live your life the way you want to? We all make them, it’s good to think about them to see what you are sacrificing and what reward you get for making those sacrifices.
